CARING FOR YOUR HAIR EXTENSIONS

  • BRUSHING YOUR HAIR
Brush 2x daily starting at the bottom and carefully working your way up to the scalp. Make sure to rush between each row against the scalp to prevent matting. Brush before showering to keep hair from tangling.
  • SWIMMING
Avoid sunscreens that are chemical based as these will turn light colored hair orange/pinkish. Use a mineral based sunscreen instead. Use fresh water on your hair along with a leaving conditioner before swimming in salt or chlorinated water. Braid the hair loosely and roll it up in a bun until swimming is complete. Wash your hair as soon as possible following swimming. Note: salt and chlorinated water can cause discoloration and fading of extensions and toning may be necessary.
  • STYLING
Always use a heat protectant before drying. Let your hair air dry as much as possible before using a blow dryer on a medium heat. Make sure to brush only with an extension, round brush, or wet brush throughout this process. Style as desired using heat settings between 250 and 375 degrees if possible. Avoid any products with alcohol or oil near the scalp. Use serum on the last 2/3 of the hair to reduce tangling throughout the day. You can repeat use of serum daily after brushing.
  • WARNINGS - DO NOT
Do not ever cut, color, perm, or chemically alter your extensions at home. Do not pull or tug on the extensions during the course of wear. If wearing tape or K-Tip extensions do not wash your hair for 48 hours following installation to avoid slipping. If wearing tape or K-Tip extensions do not use high heat at the point of attachment. This can melt the adhesive properties of either method.
  • WASHING YOUR HAIR
Always use professional products that are sulfate and paraben free. This helps maintain moisture and retention. Wash between each row against the scalp. Do not use circular motions or flip hair upside down. Use conditioner ONLY on the last 2/3 of the hair. Conditioner on the scalp will make your hair oily and can make certain methods slip out.
